167

Somehow the time just flies by these days. Spring is coming and I am excited for everything I want to accomplish this year. I am thinking I will be making some major decisions on life soon and where I want to go in life but I am still pondering on my options. So lets talk about what I DID accomplish this week! I moved 167 tires! I know you think that sounds stupid but do you know how much work it is to move that many tires? Not to mention how dirty I got doing it! All of these tires were stacked 4 high going around what was our garden last year.

So now the tires are moved from the soon to be chicken coop area, next step is to move them to where they will be added to our shooting range.

When we moved them from over by the shooting range next to our garden last year we used my truck to do it, this year when I move them back I will be moving them all by hand. I hope to get that done this weekend, but I will also be cleaning out my storage room to convert it into my sewing room and our washer died while I was doing laundry before work so I also have that project to work on.

Oh and I need about 400-500 wooden pallets if anyone knows where I can get some for FREE please let me know!

Workouts

I have been Primal for almost a year, the last 6 months or so I really slacked off on it though, when I am following primal I feel great, I don't overeat, I have lots of energy. When I cheat just once or twice it throws everything off and I end up in a slump for weeks. So a few weeks ago I said enough of this shit, I am tired of being fat I am tired of being angry at myself for being fat and dammit I want my fucking clothes to fit me! So I have re-committed myself to primal. In the two weeks I have been strict primal I have lost another 5 pounds, so only 10 more until my first mini-goal of 140 by June 1st. I figured out that I cant have any sugar though, not even fruit. If I eat one bite of fruit I then go back for more, and more, and more. Its not that fruit is bad for you its just that it hinders my weight loss progress and I am tired of being fat, nuts are my enemy also. I fucking love nuts, so if I have one, then I need the whole bag - we buy nuts in bulk in 3 pound bags and really I don't think anyone should be eating 3 pounds of nuts a day. So no nuts, no fruit lots of meat and lots and lots of veggies. And along with eating right I am going to start exercising again, I love love LOVE Mark over at Marks Daily Apple he has all the right info on nutrition and the dude is seriously ripped and looks awesome but I found Al Kavadlo through the forums on marks site and this dude is AMAZING, no seriously AMAZING in what he can do and his upper body strength so I have been following his body weight routine for beginners and its kicking my ass. I love it though. I just ordered his book today and can't wait to read it and get even more information. You should check out his site and check out his you tube videos HERE. Between Mark and his eating and Al and his workouts I should be fit and lean this summer. For the first time in a few months I am super excited to go home and workout and this summer I will be building myself a outdoor workout area with pull-up bars, lower bars for dips and such and boxes for jumping on.

Smell

Wow, once again its been a while since my last post. Not having internet at my house really sucks sometimes, and I would blog on my phone but it just seems like to much work. I made Aleric a quilt for his birthday so I will do a post about it soon. Ok now on to today's post...

Do you wear perfume or cologne? At one time in my life I had probably 20 bottles of the stuff, now I have 2 body sprays and that's all. When I run out I am going to try to find some better body sprays that hopefully have less chemicals in them but for now I have what I have. Why do I even bother writing this? Well because I think that perfumes and such are a huge factor in today's divorce rate. After all we are mammals and just like other animals we use our smell to make decisions. Well if your future mate is covered in perfume or cologne then you really don't know what they smell like, so you get married and 2 or 3 years go by and slowly your mate has stopped wearing perfume and cologne every day and you slowly you realize that you don't like their smell. Well isn't that shitty? You married someone because you were "PERFECT" for each other when in reality there are probably a lot of things that you don't agree on, and now to top it off you don't even like the natural scent of this person. As well as being against perfumes and colognes I am also against body washes, scented soaps and the like. I know I sound crazy but I like the natural smell of my mate, he doesn't need any other scent because the scent he has is exactly what makes my body tick. It wakes me up and makes me feel like a primal human, now don't get me wrong the cologne he wears (when he wears it) smells very nice but it doesn't make me want him like his natural smell does. Anyone care to comment? Anyone else out there in the vast land of the internet know more about smell and mates? I am sure there is tons of info to be read on it but I just don't have the time to do the research.

Goals?

So for this new year I decided that I wanted to complete some goals, First I would like to get out into the outdoors more. I work all day so sometimes (OK most of the time) I don't even get a chance to go outside in the day so Aleric does not get to go outside either. Right now I think its like 3 below with wind chill so I wont be going outside again today. But I would really like to take Aleric outside more. Also I would like to make sure we do 1 activity as a family at least once a month. In January we went to the huge gun show at the fair grounds. I like guns but really the only good thing about this gun show was a guy showed Aleric how to make fire with flint. Other than that it wasn't really that great. I am not sure what we plan to do this month.

Another thing I want to do is complete 52 craft projects or DIY projects this year. I am ahead of the game and have done 7 or 8 this year, I am writing them down so one day maybe I will do a post about the projects that I have finished this year.

I would also like to read 12 books this year. I am not doing so well on this one. I got 2 new books for Christmas - I asked for "The Lost Dogs" by Jim Gorant, its the story of the Michael Vick pit bulls (most of you know I own 2 pitbulls) and with it I received a book called "Oogy" well I am about 1 chapter into The Lost Dogs and I think the next page is going to describe how they electrocuted a little brown dog (one of my 2 pits is brown) so I just cant make myself read that next page. I have so many books I want to read but I always forget to write down the titles, I came across yet ANOTHER book that has caught my eye today its called "Callous Disregard" by Andrew J. Wakefield - its about the vaccine industry and all the lies and cover ups, so when I have an extra $20 I will for sure be ordering this book to add it to my reading list for this year. I just love books, so if you have any suggestions of books that I should add into my list of reading for this year please let me know and I will look into them.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Moms birthday, I made her a gluten free cake (so that she could share it with Aleric) and I spent a few weeks working on a quilt for her new chair. This is the first quilt I have made so there are a few small flaws and im sure that all of the quilting pros would laugh at me but I am very proud of myself. Now lets get to the pictures!
This is the front of the quilt:

And the back of the quilt, I really like how the flowers look like the ones from the top are falling and forming the ones on the bottom:

Close up of the stitching, I used the coolest multi color thread I LOVE this thread, if I had a million dollars I would buy every color they make!

And lastly just a picture of the quilt a little closer up:

Win a cow!

Today is the start of Marks Primal Challenge on MDA. There are tons of prizes to be had as well as the weight you will lose and the energy you will gain. He is even giving away a cow, yes you read that right a cow provided by US Wellness Meats will be a prize! Not that I have a freezer to put a cow into but you can bet if I won it I would be out buying a freezer to stuff it in. Being Primal is seriously the best thing to happen to me and my health. Chris has already met his goal weight and I am only 20 pounds from mine. But within the last 2 months my life has went to hell and so has my eating. But now I am back on track and ready get active and get in shape. I urge everyone to go over to www.marksdailyapple.com and join in the fun.

5 Day Weekend

I love holidays, really im not even sure why I love them so much but I do. I want Aleric to grow up and have good memories of his childhood and family get togethers. Holidays usually mean a family get together. But so far that has meant the in laws on one day and my family on another. This 4th of July all of us were here at my house together and it was wonderful. We had a pretty busy week though, we had a five day weekend so on our first day off we went to Denver, we went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Aleric is only 17 months old so while he wont remember it, he had a good time, he loved looking at all the stuffed animals, he was running around and pointing at everything.

The next day we went to Salida, then the next day we had our 4th of July (one day early). This was the first time Aleric really got to see fireworks, we went and saw a public display of them last year but he was still so tiny, he slept through the whole thing. He also got to play in his new baby pool that day.

Aleric and Chris - Aleric is getting a smoke bomb so he can go place it where he wanted to and light it

And then on Sunday we did absolutely nothing. It was great, really we had stuff we could have done but when you have 5 days off you have to at least spend one of them relaxing and watching movies. One of the movies we watched was Fat Head. This was a great movie, I will recommend it to everyone. I love documentary's and this was just so well put together it was very entertaining while still delivering some very good information to the public in a way that they can understand. And as of tomorrow its back to work and back to normal everyday life.
